INTRODUCTION
This will be our first visit to this fabulous location with known Paranormal Activity of various natures from Audio to Members of Staff being pushed. Join us in this adventure to find out who resided or visits this Castle.
HISTORY
Tonbridge Castle was originally built in 1070, soon after the Norman Conquest. Early Norman castles were designed to be built quickly. A huge mound of earth was thrown up and a wooden enclosure built on top. Later these wooden defences would be replaced with stone walls. The castle was designed to protect the Norman invaders from a restive native population. Ironically the first time the castle was involved in fighting was during a struggle between different Norman factions.
By the eighteenth century it was being used as a quarry, the stones of its massive walls being carried off for other buildings. Not until the 1950s would the castle be viewed as worth restoring, and it was only in 1992 that the castle opened as a tourist attraction.
THE EVENT
Our night will consist of an introduction, Protection and Health and Safety Talk, you will be split into groups and you will encouraged to be pro-active during the event and you will have the chance to monitor our ghost hunting equipment throughout the night.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.
